Should I slide my slide out room in over the winter season?
Yes!
Yes, we recommend that all rooms are slid in over the winter and snow season. There are a couple of reasons as to why we recomment this. The first being the simple factor of weight. Over several months of snow fall the weight of the accumilation can cause stress on the room and the camper sturcture. Another reason is the over the winter and spring, tempratures change often and rapidly which can cause the snow to melt and freeze again. This creates a constant layer of moisture under the snow which can damage and peel slideout roof seals. Lastly is that if your slideout starts to leak because of a bad seal or a rodent, most people are not able to discover it until the spring and find that the damage has already been done over the winter season.
Most slideout rooms are easy to slide it, with just the touch of a switch, so in saving just a couple minutes of your time you may create many more problems. If you have any questions reguarding your slideout room(s) please give us a call!
